Our Ladies Win the La Carreta Cup

We have won another IC trophy!!

Yes, our ladies of Rene Plant and Rosanne Duke won the La Carreta cup which formed part of the Belgium IC 75th Jubilee. Played at the magnificent Royal International Lawn Tennis club they had a tough draw having to overcome Great Britain to reach the final and then beat the mighty German team 2-1 with them playing superb tennis in the doubles to win that 61 63 to secure the trophy.

Socially they were feted with a trip the Waterloo battle grounds and then a day in Bruges know as the “Venice of the North.”

During the gala dinner and prize giving Rene Plant was awarded honorary membership of the Belgium IC.

To win the event was a magnificent achievement as the competition was as expected, very strong and the trophy gets added to the CQS cup we won in Prague in 2019 and the Potter cup way back when.

We offer our sincere congratulations to both Rene and Rosanne on this amazing and wonderful achievement as they write their names in the history book of the South African IC.
