June 2023 French Open Final and Lunch So after the disappointment of not being able to hold a social day at the end of last year, we decided to try something different and held a lunch followed by us watching the mens final of the French Open from Paris on the big screen. In the end there were 34 of us who attended which included some potential new members and we provided a full French menu of French onion soup, followed by Coq au Vin and then French style cheese and biscuits and finished with a dessert of profiteroles and macarons. The macarons were all in the three colours of the French flag so very topical. In view of the potential new members chairman Mike Dunk, gave a short history of the formation of the International Club and the aims and objects as well as detailing what the IC SA did with regard to development in the townships as well as what we offer members like tours and social events. Bryanston Sports Club certainly did us proud as regards the food which was really French quality with abundant quantity as well. The comments afterwards were very positive with regards to the food and the day as a whole. We managed to get some French posters from Air France to decorate the hall as well as Air France flags on the table so there was a good French feeling about the whole day. This is something we will to repeat in the future. Previous Article South African Tribute To Tennis Legends Finally Takes Place Next Article IC SA Represented at La Carreta Cup In Belgium
