Cape Town Breakfast

It has now become a tradition that when Mike Dunk, IC chairman travels he tries to organise a social event in that area. As he visits Cape Town on holiday each year, the IC President, Lorna Krog, who is resident in Cape Town, organizes a breakfast for the Cape members.

Previous venues have been the Royal Cape yacht club, a superb wine farm and this year the event was held at Welgemoed tennis club which boasts a very good café on the premises. A good turn out of members was entertained to a hearty breakfast and it gave Mike Dunk the opportunity to let the members there know what is happening and planned within the club for 2023. Although his chairmans report for 2022 had been recently sent out to all members, it was an ideal opportunity for him to “show the flag” in that area and more importantly, to have contact with the members there. Due to the vastness of the country, it is never easy to see members from outside the local province on a regular basis, so it is opportunities like this that he can keep the members involved and up to date with what is happening.

It was a glorious Cape Day weatherwise which added to the occasion and it is vital that the lines of communications between the members is kept as open as possible and it through functions like this that the camaraderie of the club is enhanced.
